any diff. with Used or New springs?

Default any diff. with Used or New springs?

i see a couple of people selling their eibach springs, any downfall in buying a used springs? will the car still need to get use to the spring and then do the alignment after a couple of weeks?

Well, used springs do not need to be "broken in," so you can get a wheel alignment immediately. I doubt that the IS it came from will have a significant difference in body weight, unless if the interior was gutted, or if it was fully loaded with max weight capacities at almost all times.

New springs take about two weeks to "settle." I waited two weeks to do a wheel alignment on mine.

thanks for the info..is 100 for a tanabe springs good? or should i go with the eibach for another 50 bucks?

Hmmm. the guys that are installing my springs are trying to get me to align right away, i thought i had to wait too. Im gonna tell them they were wrong.

both great springs. I'd go with the Eibachs though. Swells Lexus sells the Eibach so Lexus must approve Eibach, and also Eibach made the TRD GS400 lowering springs. I'd go with the Eibach

Used springs would be fine, but they will still have to settle in just like a new spring. The settling time has to do with the rubber that the springs are perched on. If you get an alignment before they are fully settled, then you'll really need to get another alignment once they do.

agree! install the springs and drive the car for a week or two then go in for the alignment and you should be fine.

spring install should be about $100-125 - they might get you for 2 hours of labor. Alignments usually run $60-75 depending on where you go.
