I dont see why the old shims can't be re-used. It's probably a dealer's thing to replace the shims.

It's not that serious, the Duralast rotors are very good and come with a 2 year replacement warranty. Also, as for the pads, the Morse Ceramic are fine. I know guys who run these all the time with no issues and you now get a life time warrantty on those.

ok it's been about 6 mos and about 8k miles and my autozone duralast rotors are warping...... i'm a little upset, expecting to get at least 1yr out of the rotors. but the guy at autozone mentioned that semi-metallic pads are the best to use with inexpensive rotors. i bought the ceramic when i changed the rotors, maybe ill go with semi-metallic pads and duralast rotors again and see how long they last......
now has anyone heard of www.brakeplanet.com
they have drilled and slotted silver zinc coated rotors with a lifetime warranty for $100 for 2 front rotors or $200 for all 4 rotors

FYI - This may be off topic but this is where Rotora purchased OEM size disc(s) before they were CNC'd and came back to be re-boxed as Rotora cross drilled/slotted or just slotted. So anyone that is running OEM size Rotora disc(s) on the track are running these disc(s) ... Centric parts

havent heard of any problems with ceramic and autozone rotors, but that is a good deal on cross drilled. just dont like warraties when you have to ship back. would be a good deal if local though

called autozone today. they have a part number for my car for the moorse, but have no way of getting them anymore. I will just get some good pads from advanced auto. How is wagner, raybestos, or bendix. that is what they carry. I will go with a ceramic.

Wagner, i wouldn't put anything else on ones car i work on. I use OEM pads, but if you choose aftermarket, wagner is the way to go. And remember you get what you pay for.

Duralast has made quite a name for themselves in recent years. I would have no issues using them as OEM replacments. I wouldnt think twice about it. Most duralast parts come with a lifetime warranty, or at least a warranty of some sorts. and their prices are great. if your car isnt covered under warranty and you are looking to save a few bucks, Duralast is as good as oem in most cases.
