** GS/IS Coilover-Air Suspension ** Gauging interest thread
Hey guys, I just wanted to post this up here and gauge what the interest was for a coilover setup like this.
Its the AirForce Air/Coilover set up. It's very similiar to the Skipper Air Suspension Add On Kit, with the exception that it won't be near the $3700.00dollar price Skipper charges for their kit.
First note is that this system is for the entire coilover assy + the air bag assy already assembled and ready to install. I am currently waiting for specs on spring rates, and actual cost for the entire coiover plus the compressor and mounting set up. We are working to get a complete GB pricing for the entire kit, and will have pricing up shortly.
Here are the rest important notes of interest direct from the manufacturer
" The spring rate can be offered in any kind of rate you want , so each buyer can have their own spring rate. If the customer do not know about what kind of spring rate they want, we can just have it set at the Tein CS-T rates.
Most the time for small car like the IS , we offer 8/7 , for big cars like the GS we offer 18/13 ( dont need to worry its not hard at all , thats how mine is , ride bit harder then stock , but not so bad)
This kit can raise and lower the car. The cylinder can do a 3.5 finger gap from the lowest drop. So if the car is dropped , you can raise it up to 3.5 finger gap high, which is the same as the stock height.
The coilover is Full Length Adjustable , compared to Tein CS-T, it's way better. As an added plus, all our coilovers come with upper mounts with camber adjustment (F/R). Each cylinder comes with the dust cover to keep the dust out of the cylinder.
The Air valves are optional , for people who want to show off the car. It does not come with the kit, because some dont like the sound of the valve. The good thing about our kit is you dont need to worry about how to mount it in the car , because the tank and compressor and all other wire are all in the sub box, so all you need to is just plug the hose and power , just sit back and watch roll."
Well on to the pictures

Coilovers work on this principle
So post up , let me know what you think. Im sure if interest is good it will help get the cost even lower.

Um, so if you want to adjust the cars height do you use air or the preload adjustment collar? And if you use air, then why is there a preload adjustment collar?
I kinda like not having to drill, run wires, and tap into power. I think it is kind of a cool idea, but I think the Tein CS are as conservative as one should go if they are going to get coilovers. But if you are into that "slammed" look, god knows why, have at it.
