Fitting kit is the clips that holds the brake pads to the caliper. A worn fitting kit will allow the pads to slide around when you brake or when you change the gear lever.

Shim kit includes pieces of flat metal that goes between the caliper's piston and the brake pads. It's there for reduction in vibration if anything.

Front Shim Kit: 04945-30140
Rear Shim Kit: 04946-30071
Front Fitting Kit: 04947-30120
Rear Fitting Kit: 04948-30071

Henry, If you buy brake pads at autozone doesn't it usually come with the Shim Kit and do you really need to replace the shim kit? I can see the sense of replacing the Fit kit but not to convinced about the shim kit just yet.

The shims that comes with the pads from autozone should be fine. What I did was reused my OEM shims. As long as they're not deformed or bent, then you can reuse them. I dont see myself paying for a set of shims unless I lost mine somehow.
