Default at my Lexus dealer now and I asked about the brake dust....

....and the service guy advised me that a TSB was released on the 08 IS for brake dust about 3 weeks ago. They have the pads in stock and are replacing them now. Last time I checked...there was no TSIB on 08's. Anyone know? This is good info for the 08 guys.

The don't have one last time I check. But I heard some member here saying the dealer just replace it for you. I think I will have mine done when it have 10K if they willing to do it.

JM Lexus in South Florida said yes, there is a TSB for the 08's when I was in 2 weeks ago.

I can have them replaced when I want.

I am going to have mine done at the 15k service because these pads typically get bad at 20k I hear for the "high friction" ones. I am hesitant about the reduction in brake power, but I will try it and if it is bad, i will buy the OEM and replace myself. Some people on CL have felt a differance. Please post your opinion when you get your car back from the TSIB service.

Hi,
I have an 08 and the fronts do show a lot more dust than the back ones. I'm thinking of waiting for the 5k service and get the dealer to do them both at the same time.

Yes, wait for a service interval so you can grab a loaner and also, get more wear and tear out of the OEM pads. That way, you will have more time before you have to shell out your own money for them.

So, I tried to get the new pads (TSIB) installed on my '08 IS250 in early December. The two local dealerships turned me away. At that time the '08 wasn't included in the TSIB. Can anyone verify that indeed it is now? Where is it documented? My 5k mi service is quickly approaching and I definitely want the low dust pads.

What model do you have? 250 RWD, 250AWD or 350, and how are your pads holding up to the brake dust now?
