*The POLL is multiple choices so you can select BOTH*
Please post too, I want this to be a discussion thread.
After all this time I have been looking at purchasing coilovers. At this time in my life I do no see the need for coilovers, nor should I be pissing the money away. Although I would love to have a set, I don't think its feasible.
So I am looking for the best possible spring/strut setup. Yes I have searched. I read multiple threads and everyone has a different opinion on EVERYTHING.
Everything is Supra-spec, for lowest drop possible.
For Springs, I am looking at Swift (being the most pricey), Tanabe GF210 (Being the most bang for buck), and Tein S-Tech (being the cheapest). The Tanabe seems to have the most info, but Ive heard nice things about Swift.
Swift - $276 obo (ebay)
Drop Rate (F/R): 1.2/1.0"
Spring Rate (F/R): 5.0-9.4/3.0-4.2kg
![](http://images.channeladvisor.com/Sell/SSProfiles/20060202/Images/swift_sportsprings.jpg)
Tanabe GF210 - $200ish (ebay)
Spring Rates: 8.5 / 4.2
Drop (F/R): 1.2 / 1.0
![](http://www.tanabe-usa.com/images/Springs/gf210.jpg)
Tein S-Tech - $180ish (ebay)
Spring Rates: 12 / 6.5
Drop (F/R): 1.1 / 1.0
![](http://www.tein.com/products/photo/stech_products.jpg)
For struts I cannot decide between Bilstein (heard really nice things about), Tokico Adjustable (is it worth it?), Tokico non adjustable (to save a few bucks), or KYB AGX (mixed feelings about KYB honestly).
Struts
Bilstein - $379 (shox.com)
![](http://i10.ebayimg.com/03/i/000/a9/26/6505_1_b.JPG)
Tokico Adjustable - $420
![](http://www.kurumamotoring.com/image/tokico/tokicoill1.jpg)
Tokico Non Adjustable - $250ish
![](http://www.kurumamotoring.com/image/tokico/tokicohp1.jpg)
KYB AGX - $400
![](http://i9.ebayimg.com/03/i/03/0b/8e/8e_1_b.JPG)
As it stands I have my mind set on Tanabe GF210 and Tokico Adjustables or Bilsteins.
I really dont know as of yet though.

I'd say KYB AGX, if they are cheaper than the Bilstein... or you could look at Koni Sport. If I end up going shocks and springs I'll probably end up getting Koni shocks and custom springs (custom drop and rate).

bilstein shock and swift springs. i know how much you want comfort ![Smilie](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
i would personally do bilstein shocks and tein springs. the teins are a little stiffer.
i have tokico hps and eibach springs. its a nice drop and the ride is smooth. too smooth if you ask me....if that even makes sense. its a little stiffer then stock but i still too soft.
if not bilstein shocks then tokico illumina and tein springs.
if you get the bilstein shock you can laso get your car corner weighted and have the shocks revalved later on to match it perfectly to the springs and weight of the car.
good luck. i still say get stance though

I just ordered today a set of the Tokico blues and Espelir springs. I chose the Tokico because of my excellent experiences with them in the past with other cars and I know they make a good product. My car does not see a track or heavy cornering or anything like that so these will be fine. I went with the Espiler because of the aggressive 2" drop and how great I think the stance of the SC is with those installed.

i have Espiler springs on right now and they arnt that bad. Ride comfort wont be the same as stock but it has a more sportier feel and it drops 2 inches so thats good. from my lip to the ground.. its about 3.5 inches? (vertex style kit) but then again espilers arnt listed up there =[

Save yourself the hassle and get yourself a set of bilstein shocks with hypercoil springs to make your own coilovers. This is much better than any of the other setups mentioned yielding superior handeling, rediculously comfortable ride quality (better than stock), and you will still be able to lower the car up to 1.5" safely. Here is a write up including all the parts needed http://www.supraforums.com/forum/sho...d.php?t=446817 . Total comes to around 850 plus shipping, but you will never need another set of springs/shocks again.

^^^ x2, I'm with Evil and 5sp jzz30^^^
I was wondering when someone was going to post up the link to the " The gixxer_drew suspension thread.. " I've got that set up on order, though the Bilsteins fronts for the Supra are backordered nationally until mid-March, bummer.

Looks like we're both heading the same direction. We're running identical polls lol, the difference you have more options, mine only has three. But SAME outcome. I think it's convincing enough. Still, I'll let you go ahead and pull the trigger first, I'm still scraping my way to it.

I'll be doing the Bilstein coilovers soon, as well. Shox.com is probably the cheapest place for the Bilsteins. All the conversion parts and springs can be found at speedwaymotors.com under Race Parts. I'll be using Carrera springs (49.99 each) and their sleeve kits ($39.99 each).

I have Espiler ASD's and Tokico Blues w/a Daizen Camber kit (front and back)and I think it rides and handles great and it is low. It's very sporty but still feels like a luxury car.
