Default TSIB Brake Pad question

I have a few questions regarding the TSIB on the dusty brake pads for the second gen. IS
I want to get rid of this problem, but I have lowered my car with springs, added aftermarket wheels and tires and also put an intake on my car.
I have heard stories of some dealers giving people a hard time with after market parts.
Is it worth it for me to take it to the dealer or just spend a few bucks and replace the pads myself ? I like my sales rep. He was easy to work with, gave me the deal I wanted...I don't want to lose that relationship.
I'm sure I'll be buying another lexus, or two, in the near future.
What to do?
Can anyone who works at a dealer chime in and let me know how this would work out?

Thanks in advance.

It depends on the dealer. If you don't have a good read on how they might react, changing pads is pretty easily done yourself.

I think I would try the dealer first; at least then, you'll know where you stand.

I don't think your dealer will give you a hard time about that, the pads are a different issue than intake, rims, or suspension. I would talk to the service manager in a kind manor and describe your concern for how bad the dust becomes and how you are a fanatic in maintaining your vehicle. I love the new pads I received. It took a day for them (with light braking), to be as effective as the "High Friction" ones. I have little if any dust now, and the new pads will last longer. Go for it!!!

I was able to talk my dealership into swapping the pads on my 08 IS250. Finagle them a bit and they'll do it. I cited EXCESSIVE brake dust, brakes too grabby, etc... I'm much, much happier with the new pads.

My service guy told me that the TSIB pads make a good bit of noise. Has anyone here experienced that? He said if I didn't like the noise and could live with the brake dust, he would switch me back later but I'm just wondering how much noise these things make.

No noise at all. If they are properly bedded in you should be fine.

My experience too. And I neither turned the rotors nor did I do any special bedding procedure.

No noise for me with the TSIB pads. They are excellent!!! I was initially owrried that I would reduce my brake effectiveness, but they brake just as good with no grabby feel or dust. Plus, they will not wear out the rotors as fast.

No noise at all. Bogus statement from my experience.

Again, the best move I made with this car is getting the brake pad replacement.A lot less dust and I like the brake feel.
