Unhappy Springs damaging to stock shocks??!!

Heyy im thinking about dropping my car 1 inch all round w/ the Eibach Pro Kit but i heard from a shop that aftermarket springs put alot of stress on the stock shock and can be harmful in the longrun..is this true?...he told me that i should go w/ coilovers which i know are better but cost alot more too and i am in a financial situation where i cannot afford them at this time..any input is appreciated...thanks

alot of people do the aftermarket springs with stock shocks but he is right they can be more stressful than stockers. people usually go aftermarket springs and shocks at the same time

i think it all depends on the height and the spring rate of the aftermarket springs. the shorter and stiffer the aftermarket spring, the shorter the life of the OEM shock.

It also depends on how hard you drive on them also. I had my Road Magnets on stock shocks with a 1.75" for 50K without any problems. I only took them off because I put on 19s and which required going to coils.

eibach vs. tein vs. swift who makes the best springs? is there really a difference? what about the smaller companies like RoadMagnet springs out of baltimore?
