Default Drilled/Slotted rotor - OEM brake pad problem..

Sup bro's and sis's got this new problem, bought new slotted and drilled rotors to keep me from going 7:30 until I have enough money saved for a BBK, BUT I ran into a new problem.. hopefully it's not a major one.. here it is...as you can see in the pic the last set of drilled holes; the ones that the arrow is pointing at are only partially covered by the brake pad's foot print...will this develop into a problem when braking or overall performance?

IMO....no...shouldn't be a problem under normal driving.

At least the holes look like they chamfered. that will help with stress. Remember what the holes do. They remove mass... mass that helps to gets rid of heat.. I think IMHO that you would be better off running duct work from the front of the car into the brake rotor area.

I am no longer a fan of the cross or slotted they look good.. but who cares what they look like when your doing 130 which all our cars will do. You do not want to mess about with this. becareful. .. I want MASS.. again in my humble opinion you want the heaviest rotor you can find to hold and dissipate as much heat as you can.

I have attached a picture of a EBC rotor.. if you get a slotted rotor make sure they have an arch or curve to them.. Sinusoidal wave to it. It will be much quieter.. with a straight type slot you will get a roar under heavy breaking.

I will step off of my soap box now...

To answer your question ... your pad missing half of a hole will not matter. You will not be able to tell.

Like what TRD911 said, don't worry about it...for now. Cross drilled rotors are overrated for street use. Save up for the BBK and get it as soon as possible. Good luck.

Was under the impression that slots and holes in reality (not in theory) are really just for appearances anyway.

for street applications, yes. you're not going to be reaching 500C+ and they're actually just there to increase your pad wear.

racing applications (circuits, not so much drag) is totally different.

The stock rotors shouldn't warp unless they're turned down below the recommended minimum.

What? They will warp turned or not.. They will warp faster (easier) the thinner they are

Turning goes back to removing mass... which is bad. very bad.
