Default tokico rear struts doesn't fit Tein springs....

ok just installed some new tokico shocks/strut on my car..the fronts were fine but on the rear struts the tein springs did not fit all the way to the bottom like it should be..but my old kyb struts fit fine w/ the springs..anyone has this issue before? i just said to myself ***** it, i already took the old ones out and the new one in, i'll just run with it since it was a PITA to get the old ones out...

sorry no pics..i meant like how the spring supposed to wrap around the bottom part of the strut but it doesn't, and yeah the bottom of the spring is to small..it goes from big on top then small on the bottom..

that's what i was thinking too but wasn't sure b/c i have never really seen the difference between the two..if it's really a supra spring then shouldn't the front not fit perfectly or does it? when i bought the car it already has those springs should've ask the previous owner..but it'll be alright i'll just run it like it is until i need to replace the shocks/struts again.

What color are your old kyb shocks? If they are grey/silver then they are probably the GR2 model which are most likely SC shocks. If they are red then they are probably the AGX model which are Supra shocks. Reason I ask is because Kramer may be right. The front supra springs should fit sc shocks fine, but it is the rear that does not fit like you are describing.

wow..so you're telling me all this time i had supra springs, cool..b/c my old shocks/struts are the red agx models and didn't know kyb didn't make them for the SC's..next time i'll diffenately buy shocks for the supra then (btw does it matter if it's for a tt or n/a supra?)...

The shocks shouldn't matter if they are from a tt or na unless they are the oem shocks. The difference in the oem shocks is just the valving as they are physically the same. In my opinion, I would change out those rears shocks. The good thing is that if you are on a budget, you can just buy a rear pair of kyb agx or similar rear pair of supra shocks. The fronts are fine for now since they are the same for sc/supra, but you may want to get a matching set in the future.
