Default brake sound after wash...

Everytime after I wash my car, when I step on my brakes
I could hear a thud or squeak, then after a while it would go away. Is this because of the abs being wet? Is this normal?

completely normal. sometimes the water ont he rotors causes a little oxidation. In fact, if you leave the car out in the rain for a day, you may come back and find them COMPLETELY rusted. It's normal, and will wear off after the first or 2nd braking.

Yeah, it's loud! Pretty embarassing too. After I wash my car, I'll start driving and the first few times I break it makes a loud vibration-type noise from the breaks. All my neighbours look at me!

I hate that!! It is embarrassing. It doesn't happen on My Maxima or 3000GT but it does on my dads '98 Z71 Truck and the Lexus when I'm backing out the driveway....The whole car just starts vibrating and everyone is just looking like something wrong with the car or something..

Wink

I used to get the same noise and vibration when I left car wash. I took my IS in for 16k Km inspection. My dealer removed and reinstalled the breaks to check for any unusual wear and tear. The front and rear breaks were at 85%. Fortunately, the noise and vibration does not exist anymore!
