Default brake pads..

I have 22K miles on my 07' AWD250 and my brakes are squealing. Is that normal? I don't drive that hard and I thought you don't have to change your brakes for 40K miles. I do have a lot of brake dust on my front wheels.. could that be the reason? also if i need to replace them, which brake pads should i get? should i go with OEM brake parts? or is there better ones out there that doesn't have that much brake dust? Thanks advance for your comments. you guys are great!

Typically rotors will be replaced at 40k on our cars and 20k for the pads. We have high friction pads and you should swap them out. It is very easy to do yourself, PM me if needed.

I dont think id let Pepboys touch my car...

Most of you who are still under factory warranty, should be able to get the non-dust pads under the TSIB for brake dust.

I have the EBD Red Stuff Ceramic pads and I am very happy with them! They are expensive but I like the grab they give. They are a little dusty IMO but a great pad!

What are you looking for in the pads?

Akebono ceramic (proact) do dust very little. In fact, my front Akebono pads put out less visible brake dust in a week than my rear OEM pads in 2 days. That's pretty awesome considering the front wears out more than the rear.

IMO I dont think you will get performance with little break dust. I like the EBC Red Stuff I do get a decent amount of dust but it comes off very easy. I think I am going to upgrade the rotors to see if I am wearing into the rotors and that is where the dust is coming from.
