F-Sport Springs Clunk Noise. Normal?
#166
i think the 5 pack is over doing it. if you look at how Tein installs the silencers, they don't overlap i.e. there is only a single piece of rubber between two metal coils.
If you stack 5 pieces end to end, you end up with double the amount of rubber between the coils, resulting in a less space between coils. (though i don't know if it really matters...)
check this picture. they basically use 2 rubbers to cover the span of 4 coils. 3 packs would more than do it. http://www.tein.com/products/high_tech.html

installed my f-sports today. i like the drop a lot... its not slammed... still gives a nice curve for the 2 finger gap.
3 tein rubber spacers on each of the rears-no clunk so far.

I hear the clunk on both the rears. Is there anything I can do to stop it? I have the rubber silencers on w/ 15mm spacers & 20mm rear. Are the tires rubbing on the body of the car? There is barley a gap on the rear while the front has a gap. Just installed them 3 days ago.

That's odd. I just installed the F-Sport springs with 5 rubber silencers on each of the rears and hear nothing going over bumps. I don't recommend this, but I've purposesly gone over bumps at different speeds to gauge noise and so far have heard nothing out of the ordinary.
I would make sure to install the silencers one right after another and possibly leave a 1/2 inch space between them. That may help.

Its sort of mixed w/ clunk & thud whenever I hit bumps or holes. I did not install them but brought them to a shop. How can I know if it was installed incorrectly? Could it be the spacers doing it?

The silencers do not completely remove the noise for some people. If you haven't heard the suspension without silencers you wouldnt know the difference. The silencers should have been placed over the top coils. How many packs did you buy?
