I am going to throw this one out there....
I had the stereo off today driving with all windows down. I swear I head this noise you speak of?? I sounded like I had a basketball in the trunk and when I stopped it had hit the area in the trunk that separates the back seat.
Does this make sense?? I looked in the trunk to make sure I had nothing loose in there?? I dont know what it was and if its related to what you are hearing Vik??

I'm starting to hear the noise now but it's not so much a clunk but a clanking metallic noise. I hear it when I go over some sharp smaller bumps at a moderate speed but not so much big bumps in slower speeds.

Doh! I'm starting to hear a sound when I go over speed bumps at about 5 mph. Sounds like golf clubs clanking in the trunk to me.
Doesn't really bother me since I don't really go over many speed bumps.

Wow.. All these descriptions still lead me to believe the possibilty of the Parking Brake Pedal adjustment issue...
See my Post# 13 in this thread..
If any of you bring it to the dealership, HAVE them properly adjust the P-Brake Cable during the tech inspection.
The rear wheels will have to come off... and maybe the rear rotors too...
It really sounds like the slack in the P-brake cable is the culprit..![Confused](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
But thats just my opinion.. based on the inconstancies I have read in this thread..
If anyone in SoCal wants ME to diagnose the noise, just shoot me a PM.. I can replicate the noise with the P-Brake issue and I know how to test the P-Brake while the car is in motion to see if the noise disappears..

there is a tsib out for this problem. just ran into it. but i wonder would they fix this issue knowing you lowered your car...
"Some 2006 – 2008 model year GS/IS customers may complain of a rattle noise coming from the rear
of the vehicle when driving over bumps. If this condition occurs, adjust the parking brake cables to
reduce the parking brake shoe free play."

^^ You don't need the TSIB, if you tell them that you need your P-Brake cable adjusted..
I am telling you guys to just try & bury your Parking Brake Pedal for long periods of time for just a few days... It will fade away..
This thread helped out member "fishnfool " with the same exact clank/rattle problem on his brand new 2008...
He read my posts in here and it solved his rattle.. He was also dropped on Tein S-tech springs.. which have that protective wrap between the spring coils.. (so he knew it wasn't spring related)
