sum things up- my understanding is that the 95-99 ls front brakes bolt right on and are very comparable to the supra tt brakes (actually a light weight upgrade sold by trd for the TT supra) and found much cheaper. you can use sc400 rotors, ls rotors, or the supra TT rotor-which would look the best considering they are about 3/4" bigger in diameter. I imagine that sc400< ls400< TT rear brakes are all upgrade options for the rear brakes.

1995-2000 LS400 front calipers will bolt right up on the SC300/400 fronts. You will need 1995-2000 LS400 front rotors as well. This is just a killer front BBK upgrade for the SC. BTW, I have a extra set of LS400 calipers that I may sell. email: draytonwebb@yahoo.com for pics/info

What about the master cylinder? Are there any swaps for it, or has everyone just left the stock one there?

As well as, any changes need to be done to the ABS?

I was wondering how much wider is the caliper itself to the stock SC ones? I have only a very little play due to the offset of my rims. I want to keep them. Does anyone have this info or exact measuremnet?

Offset has nothing to do with caliper clearance.

Hub padding , disk, and spoke design have everything to do with it.

LS400 REAR brakes are NOT NEEDED nor I do not believe they will fit/work.

I realize this thread has been long dormant but I just bolted up the calipers and rotors from an old LS400 to my project '99 SC300 and the difference in braking feel is very noticable. I had bled my brakes, my old pads and rotors were in great shape but it never felt very good. I did have to use a 5mm spacer because I'm using 2018 Mustang GT wheels but apart from some slight rubbing, they work great. I have done some sudden "emergency" type test stops and I definitely feel more confident with the new setup. (And yes, to confirm, they were a bolt on installation). I do have stainless brake lines FWIW.

Excellent! IMO the calipers and rotors that the 1995-2000 LS400's came with should have been standard equipment on SC300's, SC400's and Soarers as well. That or at least part of a special performance package trim level. As you found out they change the entire braking confidence and capability of the car for street use given the curb weight and intended use of these cars as more driver oriented sport GTs in addition to their luxury car capabilities.

But it is great to be able to do this very easy bolt on upgrade by taking things right from the Toyota/Lexus parts bin.
