Default brake caliper painted and then car wash day after

finally got around to paint my brake calipers, i didnt even properly prepped my brakes prior to the painting, just used minor 320grit sand paper on one of the calipers and decided it wasnt worth the trouble so I just used a wire brush and brake cleaner to prep the calipers. Paint used was G2 brake paint. This stuff is wonder, real glossy and no clear coat needed. I added metallic silver caliper decals as a final touch. enjoy the pics...

I also had the chance to add new 5 1w EXTREMELY BRIGHT LEDs into the parking lights:

and the model presenting my car is..no other than my 2yr old sister lol

and also...I only applied 2 coats instead of the recommended 3..got too lazy and even with 2 coats it still took about 4 hours to complete had to be extra careful with the brush on paint

Nice work. This was one of the cheapest DIY things you can do to make the car look a little better and cover up those nasty, rusty calipers. I have a 98' so there was a lot of rust. I went with black instead.

Looks very good. The red even still has that wet look to them and the decals finish it off well!

I'd like to do it to mine, but I'm going to have to wait until fall or winter. It's already in the mid 90's here in Houston.

Default Painted Calipers!

The work looks really nice. Just curious to know why you didn't go with black paint with your stock wheels?

the G2 brake paint kit doesnt require clear coat applications. So what I did was just added the decals after the paint dried. It's pretty cool though, the calipers are really glossy and the decals are reflective.

Look for something that matches your HIDs and make sure they're 1 watt LEDs. The ones I installed yesterday replaced the 12LED bulbs I had on, those 12 LEDs were probly only 1/4 as bright as the 5 1watt LEDs I have on right now. I purchase the bulbs from warden_jp2002 on ebay, very cheap and great LEDs and really understanding guy. I switch them out once every few months for **** n giggles

Just wanted to do something different than what's around me. I'm thinkin of getting some 18s, dunno which yet, but definitely metallic silver brushed 5 spokes or the likes and I want the red calipers to go with the sporty lookin wheels.

The clear coat will protect the decals, and will make them last longer

Good job man.

Painting my calipers is high on my "to do list" this year for the GS. Think I'ma go with gold with my silver wheels. Where did you get the brake paint and stickers?

LED's look good too.
