If is a TSIB i believe they will still do it even if you're out of warranty, also i check Sewell Parts their low dust pads parts# is 53040 and not 53030, therefore i think longo did their job right?

Not for free, no... they'll be happy to do it if you pay em though.

Only thing free outside of warranty is recalls, which this is not.

No I don't think so. I just checked Sewell Parts

http://is.sewellparts.com/parts_inquiry/index.html

Enter the part numbers into this page. The 53030 comes up as $78.20 after CL discount, whereas the 53040 comes up as $47.62. So you are going to have to pay if you want less brake dust.

This thread was curiously bumped back to life after 2 years... I was just curious about the 53040 because they are the default pads that Sewell recommends, but apparently those are just newer versions of the dusty pads.

I did the TSB back in early 2008 shortly after it was issued for the 2007 models. Never regretted it -- noticeably less brake dust and still had decent stopping power (at least for me). Also I seem to still have some life left in them.

Question Mine is a 2010 model IS with dusty brakes

I have heavy brake dust still from my front brake pads strangely , nothing from the rear though. I can't believe even after this TSB's Lexus is still selling us those brakes pads with heavy dust and mine is a 2010 model.

I don't know if this TSB is applicable only to owners in USA or whether I can ask them to replace mine under warranty. Does anyone here know how I can get a TSB report or something from a website that I can show as proof so that my dealer honors this TSB and changes my brake pads under warranty.
