Default Soft Brake Peddle

I recently changed all four rotors (Powerslot) and pads (Hawk HPS pads), but still my break peddle feels soft when the car is hot and when it cools down the peddle feel gets hard. Do I need to replace my stock liners with SS liners. Also I fushed the break fluid. Please help.

i had a very similar problem.. except the brake peddale was almost always soft.. !

i was driving an entire year with wat i called a " Clutch" --> my silly soft brake ! yes it felt worse than a clutch !

i changed pads.. and polished my drums as well as flushed the system.. still no use.. !

but then i went up to this dude.. and he told me.. the booster need to be adjusted ! and that was the problem... got fixed.. but not 100%... i would say 70%.. better than nothing ! at least i can now feel resistance on the pedale now.. hhehe !

hope this helped.. !

Mushy pedal feel is by far the most common complaint about Lexus brakes. Try stainless steel lines. many choices. I use Rotora coated SS lines.

flush the fluid by bleeding. I just did it and it's easy. you just need a friend to be the pumper. I used my wife.

you have air in your brake line. either that or your brake fluids are broken down to water already.

this will help... but controversial

replace brake line with braided lines aka goodridge supra mkiv or gs300 versions work, the lenghts is what differs.

make sure your pads are still good, make sure you don't have glazing on the rotors or pads.

Make sure the rotor isn't at end of life. Rotor thickness that is.. also make sure the rotor isn't warped.if you have solid rotors you may beable to recut them, if they are drilled or slotted and warped, they are scrap.

check to make sure you don't have any vacum leaks to the brake booster and any vacumlines that are brittle be replaced.

brake fluid...this becomes controversial....

Dot 3
dot 4 I've use this before and braided brake hoses and it fixed the soft spongy feel.
dot 5 I now use this,, its pretty expensive $30+ for 1 quart. in my case, using this made a huge difference.

however, you need to be aware that dot5 may eat gaskets and or rubber type materials. so far so good for the last 3 years. no leaks and all braking functions work.

Research the risks of using DOT 5 fluids before you think of doing it. Specially with the anitlock brakes.

I've also heard that a dirty ABS sensor could cause it too

I know this is an old thread but am having the same problem and it seems the break peddle is nearing the floor....could it be the master cylinder seals although I don't see any visible leaks?
