Default $1000 price quote for F-sport springs + Install, What do you think?

I went to my Lexus dealer today to ask about how much the F-sport springs would run me and they said it would be a close to $1100 with labor. I then asked how much the F-sport springs were alone and he stated something in the $300 range (I don't remember the exact price).

I then asked if they'd do a price match to Sewell given that they are an authorized Lexus dealer. Soon as I said that, the guy was like "Sewell is going to put us out of business" and talking about how the parts/service department makes close to 1 million dollars in sales every month (not sure if this actually true but I just nodded my head). Anyhow, the lowest he said he could do on the springs was like $290 (sewell is 235; does that include shipping?).

Anyhow, I want to close the gap between my wheel and the wheel well but $1,000 is a lot of dough for springs.I could use that money and save up to get some shoes for my Lex. I was thinking it'd be around $600 dollars for the springs and install. I want to get it done at the dealer so I can keep my warranty. They said it was 6 hrs worth of labor.

Do you think the price is reasonable? How can I negotiate it down?

$300 springs + $800 labor, just to retain factory warranty...

(cynically) just a little bit unreasonable. a little bit...

Seems way too high. A decent shop can install these for under $200 and you can get the springs for just a bit over $200.

Might as well get coils at that price range and say hell with the factory warranty...

all i have to say is..... WTF! lexus is gonna rob you lol but then again you get warranty* as what everyone wants.. i would say just find a good place and look around for people that recommend that shop to install them for you.. i really doubt something will go wrong with your SPRINGS so i wouldnt even worry about warranty..

btw as i work at lexus.. you should pull a tech aside and get them to do it as a side job for WAYY less...

Try other Lexus dealers in your area, if you don't have any, go back to that dealer and show the table that CAIFAN_64 posted. Labor times can be negotiated. I was also quoted 6 hours from a dealer but eventually it went down to 4 hours after some negotiation. Good luck.

Labor charges are negotiable! I was able to get $650 for F springs and F shocks installed.

From what I understand, if it is not officially done by a dealer, you only get the 1 year warranty.

Lexus Canada is having a promo, they screwed up the price on the original power point document. New revision was just sent out July 2nd.

F-Springs 195.00 $/lot
Labor, 3.9 hours @ 110.00 $/hour

= 624.00 $/lot installed.

How about a big EFF NO!!

$150 should be the most you should pay for springs installation. Also, check with Sewell Lexus and Carson Toyota for the F-sport springs, their prices should be cheaper than your dealer's especially with the Club Lexus discount/group buy code.

Good luck.
