Supra or LS400 Brakes
Which are better, Supra TT Brakes or LS400 Brakes, and what reasons? Do you need the shorter bolts for the Supra calipers also, or is this just for the LS400 calipers? Thanks

I think the LS brakes are better. Here is why:
-They weight 9lbs over the Supra's 15lbs brake
-The rotors are just a quarter of a inch smaller than TT
-You can get a set of LS brakes for the fraction of the price than some TTs
About the bolt question, I recommend you do a search on this topic and you decide wether or not you need a different bolt. You'll know what Im talking about once you read through the threads. Good luck!

tt brakes to me just seem like all around better brakes just because bigger selection in r/p and other things as well.but i am not sure how much ls400
rotors are but i just replaced the brakes on my mk4 and just the rotors were $600. but thats for rotora rotors from wotm. not sure if that helps at all but there ya go.

really, it boils down to pad selection. i was willing to pay the significant premium for tt calipers because i want to be able to pick from a bunch of differnt compounds for pads.
what GSteg previously said is totally correct.
in the math for bias, it works out more rearward if you combo with the LS400 front caliper.
for me, I choose to buy supra TT brakes for all 4 corners as I intend on being able to stop on the track.

supra calipers use the same P/n on bolts that our sc300/400 does. i had my dealer look it up before I did the install.
Regarding the higher rear bias when swapping to full supra TT brakes; simply run higher Mu rate rear pads to make up for it.
I LOVE my supra brakes.
they BARELY clear my 17x8 17x9 35/38 offset wheels

ls400 are not the much lighter... they might be 6 pounds lighter EACH than the supra tt calipers, but the part that counts is the rotors because its a rotatng mass. LS400 caliper has less weight but it also has less rotor options, supra tt calipers will do the job better IMO. I mean... what is an extra 12lbs on your 3000lbs car.. thats less than what my school bag weights

they are both good.
many people go with supra's because of the pad selection and bigger surface rotor. Many go with ls400 for price and of course, performance.
IMO, i think they are both the same, unless you are going to track your car, the supra would have a slight advantage since they are bigger.
i went with ls brakes for price reasons and i dont track my car. Either way, both are great, but its really up to you if you want to shell out the money for the supra's. good luck with your decision.

I was in the market for LS400 caliper for the longest time but I saw someone selling TT calipers for a decent price so I went with those because as everyone stated the pad/rotor selection is a lot better with TT calipers. My calipers should be here this week.
