on the SCx00 the control arm and the ball joint is one piece. which means you have spend lots of money.

when you have a bad balljoint you need a whole new control arm. when you have bad control arm bushings you..again...need whole new control arm.

sux but thats life. on a mk3 supra the balljoint is separate...just like 90% of all cars out there. the sc is not like that.

Find a set from a 93-96 Supra. Much cheaper than the oem Lexus ones.

supra control arms are the same as the sc. some people say that the bushings in the supra CA are stiffer but no one is yet to provide any type of proof except for "seat of the pants" experience which is very biased and i dont buy it.

the only variation on the supra control arms is that after 97 i think they came aluminum instead of steel.

better for a track car since you have less unsprung weight, and usually, but not all the time, less is better.

the aluminum CA versions are also more expensive.

hope this helped somewhat.

You can easily replace the bushes in the front and rear upper and lower control arms.

It is likely though that at reasonable milage ie 150+ that the lower balljoint will be badly worn as well.

I fitted Supra LCA's and put new bushes in the top arms for the front. I haven't done anything to the rear yet but I am only at 100k miles so far. The rear will need doing at some stage but the balljoints don't wear much on the back.

Try vftbushes.com for the Vlamos bushes - they are very good quality.

The Supra LCA bushes are visibly different from the SC400 ones, hard to comment on the difference in ride quality as usually you are comparing flogged out stock bushes.

Matt.
