Default Installing a F-Sport Sway Bar

I have installed the F-Sport Intake with one of my friend and consider installing the F-Sport Sway Bar for my IS 350.. But Lexus charges $200 for the install... can I do this myself with a friend or should I leave it to Lexus? How much time to install? Can I do any damage to my car? Do I need to remove my tire and lift the car?

Thanks

1. Yes you can do this with a friend and let Lexus do it if you want warranty or have the money.

2. Depends on you but no more than 2hrs IMO.

3. Yes you can damage your car.

4. I would remove the tire and definitely lift the car LOL

if you are unsure take it to a local dealer and let them take care of it - no warranty worries either.

I just installed the F Sport front and rear sway bars on my 2008 IS350 last Sunday. The stealer wanted $499 for the install - what a joke. You can change the rear with the back of the car on ramps. As for the front, you have to use jack stands (or a lift if you have one), as you won't be able to remove the old front sway bar while the weight of the car is sitting on the front wheels. I did remove one front wheel, but I don't think it was necessary.

This is a one person job with a low level of difficulty (compared to changing springs for instance). Rear bar has 6 bolts, front has 7. Torque specifications are included. In order to do this project correctly you will need jack stands, a few metric sockets (11 and 14mm, I think), a torque wrench (can be borrowed from auto parts store) a philips screwdriver, and 2 free hours.

I had no problem taking my front off with the car on a ramp. Might have just been the way the suspension was loaded at the time

But, I agree with the rest of your comments

Zexnos and I installed his F-sport sway bars this week and we did NOT have to use jack stands for either the front or the rear.

ive done numerous sway bar installs on various vehicles. they are pretty much straight forward. remove old one, bolt in new one. i have yet to do sways on my IS350 but i bet its not that hard. the trickiest part is trying to figure out how to get the stock sway bar out and how to get the new one in.

My experience with it-

The rear bar is monkey easy... like 10-15 minutes tops if you and a friend each work on a side.

The front bar is a bit longer because you have to remove a bunch of plastic covers and disconnect one sensor... more like 45 minutes with a friend on the other side.

Both ends done with the car up on a jack in the front or rear with jackstands as appropriate in case the jack failed.

With just the rear F-sport sway bar installed this is what Zexnos said.

He played around in some tight corners and was quite pleased. Cornering was flat and predictable and quick left/right maneuvers felt seamless. Definitely worth worth the money.

Haven't heard what he thinks of the car now that we installed the front bar.
