Default Filthy Front Wheels

Ok, I don't know if it is just all the brake dust or what, but I can't keep my wheels clean on my '07 350.

Within a couple of days of shining up those wheels, the fronts are pretty much black again.

Anyone else run into this?

Go to your dealership and complain. They will replace it with a low dust pad, its part of the TSIB.

it's common on the 2IS. it's part of the TSIB. you can also get a kind of spray that's for the brake dust repellent. but if i were you, i would just live with it and wash my car more often.

I just talked to the dealer, and they said they would replace them. They also said that with the new pads, that I wouldn't be able to stop as good, and there would be more noise.

What has everyone's experience been with the noise? I don't think the stopping will be a problem, I would be more just concerned with the noise.

Try a search next time, there's loads of info. Check in the suspension subforum as well.

I got use to it. I clean my wheels once a week. My dust comes off easily due to the wheel wax I applied.

It's impossible for different pads to make your stopping distance worse assuming both can engage ABS...your dealership has no idea what it's talking about (which is common for dealerships).

Note that the -feel- of the brakes might change for you somewhat (they should be smoother, and less immediately "grabby") but your stopping distance will be identical

Friction of materials can differ and initial/hot/cold bite would vary.

I liked the new pads that come with the TSIB. Like Kurtz said, the breaking is smoother which I enjoy since I commute far more often then I race around.

Neither of which have anything to do with stopping distance.

As long as the pad can engage ABS using a different pad with higher friction won't stop the car any faster.

Initial bite is the difference in feel I mentioned, but again has no relation to stopping distance.
