I have 147k on my 97 SC. My mechanic said I need new struts to replace what appears to be the original struts. $600 installed with a lifetime warranty, parts and labor. Here is my question. At some point, hopefully in the next year or two, I'm looking to get new wheels and get the car lowered. Should I wait and do the struts then, or should I do them now? I'm not sure if the struts are part of a lowering kit. If they are, it seems like a no brainer to wait. Thanks!

Gonna agree with OneJay.
It depends on your goal with the car. If you're going to get coilovers, then obviously, don't buy new struts now. If you're planning to just lower the car with springs, then yeah, get some good struts like KYB AGXs or Koni adjustables, and if you're going to have your mechanic replace them, might as well get it lowered now too.
