Default Question on JDM Soarer Brakes

For Soarer 2.5TT Calipers, where can I get good proper fitting rotors/pads in the US? I know the fronts are slightly bigger than SC300 brakes, is it the same story with the rears? Any other differences I should be aware of?

I believe you need rotors for an sc400.

Can anyone verify this? Don't wanna buy rotors that don't fit. Kind of an expensive mistake >.<

well if they dont fit you can always bring them back to the store. thats one great thing about america...return policy.

cant help you with this one. did you try a search. unless you got the soarer calipers for free i wouldnt bother with them. might as well save up for some real brakes.

i know this is probably irelevant, but when i got my brakes done we ordered a bunch of different brakes just to figure out what goes on my soarer, for the rear the calipers and rotors are pulled from a 96toyota Supra none turbo, and the fron are from a SC300 or SC400

There should only be 2 sizes of rotors for the 92-00 SC. The larger diameter rotors are on the 92-00 sc400 and 99-00 sc300. 92-98 sc300 have the smaller diameter rotors. The 91-00 Soarer rotors are not any larger than the 92-00 SC rotors. By process of elimination, it is safe to say that the 92-00 sc400 or 99-00 sc300 should work for your application. Same goes for the pads.

Thanks for the info. I guess I'll wait till I can find a deal on bigger brakes like the LS400s.

For the Lexus SC 300 92-00 for wheel discs on 16 "(OEM) diameter brake rotors:
front - Ø 276.00 mm.; rear - Ø 290.00 mm.
If you want to increase the capacity of the braking system on its Lexus SC 300 92-00 more than 2 times, then (OEM) brake front + rear caliper brake and front + rear rotors Toyota Supra Turbo TT (twin-turbo) 93-98: diameter brake rotors front - Ø 325.00 mm.; rear - Ø 324.00 mm. These discs (RroJect-M; ROTORA; Brembo) will require new wheels on a 17 "to offset +38 mm. (http://photofile.ru/users/bvr/115138709/)
For wheel drives for 19" front + rear brake rotors: diameter brake rotors - front - Ø 350.00 mm.; rear - Ø 350.00 mm.

We all know Supra rotors are probably the best OEM BBK you can fit on an SCX00, but those are becoming fairly expensive now. Hense why I asked about Soarer TT brakes.

The Soarer twin turbo rotors and calipers are larger than the V8 and non turbo Lexus brakes. Given that this model was never sold in the states you might struggle to find the right size rotors and pads.

Only marginally so but they are a bit larger. Definitely worth going to the Supra TT brakes though as they are significantly larger.

Matt.

Soarer TT brakes are interchangeable with the Mk1 Lexus GS300 / Mk4 Supra N/A brakes.
