Default How much for installing new brake pad and rotor?

Hello,
My dealer just called me and said that i need to get the front pad and rotor replaced. He said it will cost me $595. Should I let the dealer take care of it or can I expect larger savings by going to an independent?

Thanks,
Mike

Try it yourself..there are write-ups on this website on how to do it. And if you end up finishing the job right, there's an extra +5 or 6 points towards your pride and manhood

1st and foremost, how many miles do you have on your car?

a lot of dealers have been ripping off customers by telling them you need to replace pads and rotors and what not when you don't really need to.
