Default Cheapest place to buy factory pads and rotors, or who make better and cheaper.....

It is time for me to my rear brakes which is kinda weird since they wore out before my fronts. In any event I want to replace both front and rear at the same time. I imagine I can just resurface my rotors and be good to go as far as taht is concerned, right? They dont' have any warp to them.
My question is are factory pads the best or is there an aftermarket pad that is better in terms of low dust, life span, and performance? Please only first hand experience. Thanks guys.

I had the HAWK HPS pads on my previous car and I loved them. Performed very well, produced minimal dust and lasted a very long time. Make sure you don't get the HP+, those are the high performance/friction pads that create a SHIESTload of dust. The cheapest place for Hawk pads? Google will pave the way. I've seen them go for about $100 shipped to your door for the fronts I'm sure the rears are not much diff. in pricing. This is how I"m planning on changing my pads..

First time: Factory Lexus pads, resurface rotors.
Second time: Factory lexus pads, resurface rotors.
Third time: Purchase IS350 brake upgrade with pads AND new rotors from sewell for $1000. http://www.sewellpartsonline.com/par...l.asp?id=89403

Well my car has 22K miles on these TSB brake pads. I do not feel any uneven-ness in the rotors so I am assuming I can just turn them and be fine. Are the brakes on this car hard to do yourself, will I need to buy a c-clamp for the calipers?

lol...I just have been busy with the new job and my wife and I had a baby.

Actually I am going to say stay with the OEM. I tried some expensive pads and didnt see any difference and about the same in Brake Dust. I am not sure if the IS250 has the same rotors as the IS350 or not but if so then there is no reason, unless for looks, you need anything better on this car.

I would price out your vendors on here and then try your local Auto distributors to see who can get them at a decent price.

Hows the car holding up otherwise?

A C-Clamp will help compress! On your car the front and rear are the same if I recall from Brian's car. They just pivit up and the pads come out. Its pretty easy. My rears on the IS350 where the same as yours. EASY DIY for anyone on these boards. If I recall Brian231 Posted a DIY thread for the IS350 and pics from us changing the brake pads. Look in the FAQ section for it.

Hey buddy whats going on. Hope all is well and thanks for the reply. I am going to order the factory pads tomorrow and just my rotors machined. The weird thing is my front brakes are fine, but my rears are almost done. Isn't it weird that the rears wore out before the front, especially being they are the same size.

My rears have been squealing lately. I should check the pad life. I am at 24k miles. How many miles do you have?

I would assume that Sewell has the cheapest prices for pads.

I have have 22K on the pads. I had the brake dust TSB done at 3300 miles. So the TSB pad last around 22K miles with above average driving on them.
