Question F-Sport Shocks

Does anyone know if they have a shorter travel than the OEM shocks??

They are the same as stock as far as dimensions go.

its the same just stiffer. its the F-Springs that will lower the car but if you get the shocks only it will work with the OEM springs.

are you changing your suspension again???

No, I'm looking for aftermarket springs to go lower. But they don't offer anything but these and I'm trying to figure out if their travel is less than OEM. So far no luck....

sorry, I hope you know I don't mean to sound like an engineer, i think it's called damping ratio when you're talking about the shocks. Damping ratio relates to the viscosity of the fluid/air inside the shocks to create a stiffer damper/shock. Hope this helps. =P

I really dig the F-Sport Shocks too, but I think i'm too cheap...i may just have to stick with my x-Package sports tuned suspension and just get the springs. =(

The F-Sport are a Patented design by Bilstein. They are mono tube and the OEM are twin tube. You will not find a better strut on the market unless you go to a coilover with the mono tube design. The strut travel is the same with both tho. You should be able to run any of the aftermarket springs with no problems. I think the Tanabe DF210's for the GS are the lowest drop at @ 2".

My buddy at the local lexus dealer just confirmed the same thing. They're pricey though, for the price of the F-sport shocks, you might as well buy some quality coilovers and ditch the F-sport shocks and lowering springs combo.

That's exactly what I did, for what the F-sport spring and shock combo cost, you can get a decent set of adjustable coilovers, I was careful to choose ones that had montube struts. Over the years I have come to prefer monotube over twintube because they seem to offer a nice middle ground between comfort and aggression.

I dont have springs anymore, I got air and in order to go lower I need aftermarket shocks...which no one is selling as of now besides the F-Sports.

So what you are looking for is a shorter shock body with a short piston stroke, with oem style perches.
We used to do with with mk2 VW shocks, cut the shock at the top, take out the shaft and piston drill a hole at the bottom of the strut housing, clean up where you cut it off at the top and use a Koni insert. So the OEM strut housing becomes a casing for the new koni insert.
You could be a pioneer, buy your self a set of used oem struts, contact Koni and see if they have an insert that would fit the OEM strut housings???
