So I tried to complain again at Santa Monica Lexus and was shot down yet again. they refused to do the TSIB since my car is past the 50K mark. Also my brake pads were at 3mm. hahaha. oh wells. At least they are only charging me $388 to change them to the low dust one. tried but failed....breaks needed to be changed neways. FYI ....even if your car falls under the 4year or 50k mark and your brake pads are less than 4mm, the dealer can still say no to the TSIB because that supersedes your complaint. thats what the service manager told me. Just so you guys know to get this done asap.

Its mainly because you are out of warranty. Technically if you are in warranty they have to do it regardless. However, you have to go about it properly.

i think is depend on the dealership you go oo. My SA told me that since my brake pad is too new, he recommend me to wear it down and come back in couple months and get the dust free pad. I was like WOW, can't believe it, but hey might as well use it and save some money later on.

well my car was a CPO so the warranty was still valid...just extended. They still wouldnt change it though since the pads were too bare.

Has anyone gotten their rotors resurfaced when bringing the car in for the low dust TSIB? If so, did they charge you for the resurfacing. They are charging me $130 for resurfacing the front rotors. Just curious?

Make them show you the deep groove in the rotor that requires resurfacing. Otherwise they're just trying to jack you for work you're better off not doing.

oh well, I got ripped off. I have about 31K on the car and I did not see any deep groves on them last night. What an expensive way to learn my lesson.

Do you guys know if this is valid up in Canada?

The brake dust coming from the front of my 08 2IS AWD is pretty bad, and wanted to get this replacement if Lexus offers it.

Ok I'm pissed. I got my brake TSIB done about 3 weeks ago and every week I'm still getting brake dust afterward, actually more than before. I checked my paperwork from dealer and what do you know....they put on new pads but they're not low brake dust. They are the same ones as before. I'm beginning to be unhappy with this dealer.

Well, you'll be getting free brake pads again at least... and with the inconvinence of having to take it back in as well I'd be expecting, at least, a free oil change for their mistake

^^^ Yeup...

The low dust pads have a green finish on the backing...

Alternative Low Dust Pad Part# is: 04465-30400

Looks like the 2010 IS 350 C's have the low dust pads factory installed.

Just did a FULL BBK swap the other night on an IS350 C (SEMA bound) and the front had the low dusting pads installed.

Regards,
Joe Z
