Generally not true. Cheap rotors or those built without high quality standards will brake, crack, etc., but I struggle to believe and have no recall of ever cracking rotors. I've heard of that when someone actually drilled their own rotors, but that about it. If someone buys a Rotora, Brembo, PowerSlot, or another reputable brand they're not going to have a problem.

Brake pads wear, you are correct sir.

He didn't upgrade pads. He only did a direct rotor swap.

Zippy if you're running Axxis Metal Master Pads that's the main reason your braking improved. Just like GSteg said.

Due to the composition of those pads you are also wearing down your rotors at an accelerated rate.

I used to use those pads extensively on drag and track-built AWD Turbo DSMs.

Sorry that no one is addressing all of your question, we tend to digress on this site

With the Rotora rotors I personally recommend Axxis pads although that's not a choice you listed. I ended up going through a none CL vendor for the materials, www.street-power.com, but I'm sure if you bring up the price listed on the site Carson or Sewell can match it (including shipping).

These aren't metal pads, they are:

Rotors, whether slotted, drilled or both will not give any better brake performance on street use. They only play a role on tracks where heavy constant braking is used. Therefore; they are useless on street car, but sure look cool behind a big open wheel.

Hey Zipppy,
So you are running Ultimates. Do you get any noise from them and alot of dust? Give us some more info on how the pads are working for you. I've thought about these pads when my akebonos need to be replaced. I'm also considering the ebc redstuff pads. thanks!

I REALLY like the combination of my Rotora rotors with the Axxis pads. Surprisingly, there is no noise when braking just that irritating sound when I make hard turns (from the slotted rotors). I'll take some pics, they perform as good as they look.

Why would slotted rotors make noise during turns? Did you get ones that are too big for the car? A rotors a rotor - just some have slots in them. I'm confused! Fill us in ....

From what I can figure, the brake pads are in a neutral position when driving straight down the road. When I turn hard the pads shift slightly due to the g's pulling them from their neutral position causing them to click against the slotted rotors. I don't think the install was bad or that the rotors are the wrong size, I simply thing it's the nature of slotted and/or drilled rotors.

I just did the brakes on mine. I got new oem front rotors, all 4 oem pads, fitting and shim kits. I also flushed the system and used ate blue fluid. feels good to me.

I've always been happy with oem brake power. I don't heat the crap out of them either though.

Quite frankly, the OEM brake set up isn't that bad. I do like having a little extra stopping power but I guess that's just the nature of the beast.

Cross Drilled Rotors are a great choice!

Have fun.
