i have a funny story.....i went to my local dealer today to make an appointment for my LPS settings. anyways the service advisor did not even know that lexus even had f-sport stuff in stock or that they were selling it. i pointed it out to him on lexus's website. he then called the parts guy who confirmed that they were able to get them but they had to be special ordered, since they dont stock any of the f-sport stuff. i asked him how much the accessories would be to install, he said they have no idea since nobody has yet to actually order any f-sport stuff from them. im gonna get my sway bars put in before i go for my appointment, so they can see them in place.

Actually not surprised at all. The lexus I go to, the service rep doesn't know much about F-sport, he had to direct me to their parts department for questions.

Although I would say thats a pretty poor sales strategy, since service rep probably talks to more customer than their parts department.

I've heard of people using a tape measure, and measuring between a groove in one of the tires on the front side and comparing the distance to the same groove on the back side, is that sufficient for the IS with new springs? tx

that's just insane, i can't believe it. 6 hours at 120 per hour? What, that includes their lunch, time to the bathroom(long and short trips), smoke and chat on the phone?? this thing shouldn't take more than 2 hours. They are wayyy too over priced. Damn stealerships!!

I hope this isn't a stupid question, but how do you do this? Partly because I don't trust other people doing the work properly and partly because I enjoy working on my car, I'd like to be able to do/check my own alignment.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

I was quoted $520 for just the spring install. Then $120 for an alignment after that. So $640 which did NOT include the price of the springs which they wouldn't go any lower than $299. So I'll be doing the install myself.

Wow... i think I got one hell of a deal then. My local dealership installed F-sports springs with alignment for $420 on my AWD, which is suppose to be .5 hr longer than springs on a IS350. I have no regrets getting mine installed at a dealership

my stealer quoted my $860 for install and alignment. One independant local place quoted me $660 and the third (and one I'm going to) $400-450, but maybe a little less.

Crazy the amount of variability in what I gather is a relatively straightforward job.

FYI. I got my springs installed $200 and $60 alignment. From trusted installers and aligners.
