I'm an IT guy... well a programmer with a Comp. Sci degree. You just have to be bold. At one point, I wouldn't be able to figure out which way to turn to loosen bolts (don't want to tighten it even more... a very tough bolt to turn either way). Well, I just do it! One point, was itching and asked my lil nephew to swap transmission on my 86 bmw..never done it before but I just do it. Then, I swapped engine.

etc...

JUST DO IT.

BTW, I Busted knuckles and had many injuries. Now I'm lazy, I just take it to the shop

If you are looking for a cost effective install Pepboys used to charge $50 for each front and listed Mitchell labor hours for the rear. This was for strut R&R which includes changing springs so it should be the same cost for just spring install.

EDIT: Alignment is extra.

The problem was you were not using the correct tool to loosen/remove that bolt. You shouldn't use a ratchet to loosen the bolt/nut as that can damage the ratchet. You need to use a beaker bar. A breaker bar would also have a longer shaft handle which would give you more leverage and make loosening the bolt much easier.

each TireBarn is different. I've been told to gtfo by one tirebarn but one of the guys at tirebarn off 82nd by castleton tried my alignment for 2 hours, couldnt do it (lowered) so he didnt charge me.

try Performance Driven by the airport. You may want to try Modified Auto Design also.
