Instead of cutting your springs and blowing your shocks(which you would have to spend more money to replace) why don't you just get coilovers and sell your springs? To me it's not even worth the hassle of removing springs to cut them...just to repeat the work to replace the shocks after a month of use....Your car looks good as it is already...If you want to go lower...time for coilovers. Besides, if you screw up the cut you can't go back...

I think you should get RCA blocks. It's a better investment and good for your shocks and tires. If you decide to get CO you will probably slam it and want the RCA anyways. Since you want a lower stance, invest in an RCA now or sell them later to get a CO.

Anyhow, you'd probably end up buying RCA anyways.

It's cheaper with an RCA if factor in the cost of replacing tires and shocks. The front RCA you can probably fabricate or get someone to make one for you. The rear, you can buy from vendors in the classified/vendor section.

I would go RCA.

im pretty sure they are progressive springs so cutting them is going to alter the spring rate for the spring plus make the spring very weak.

i would highly advise from cutting them.

it is bad. majority of the springs arent linear anymore like in the old days where you could cut off 3 or 4 coils and it will be fine. with progressive springs, cutting the coils completely ****s your spring rates and changes them.

I have Tanabe NF210 on my car right now. Im thinking of cutting mine also. I dont know if I should do it or not cause the spring rate is not as stiff as the DF210. Should I do it while I save up for coilovers or just leave it the way it is? I hate driving at this height, I love being slammed too much. Any guidance would be great.

Here is a pic of my old car, the blue tape was just for fun.

Is there anything I could do to go lower without cutting springs or upgrading to coils/bags? Im on KYBGR2 shocks and Tanabe DF210 springs. Id like to be a bit lower in the front.

I was told RCAs are used ONLY when you have coilovers. How does it help in when youre on shocks/springs and you want to cut them?

correction. rca can be used for shock/spring combo. they were made for coilovers to fix camber issues. why is everyone on this guy about cutting his springs???? ill agree with 4play on this one. its his car, his style. i didnt cut my springs. i HEATED them, and they ride fine. say what you say but its still MY car.

i cut 1 1/2 coil off my front ltuned springs, the ride is cool not bouncy at all!!! but i did indeed blow out my front shocks, and they ride soft so when you hit big bumps the upper a arms will hit the upper wheel well, but the ride isn't bad like most poeple think..
