Default Squeaking

I bought my car at the end of winter two years ago and noticed that when it is cold out, the car squeaks when going over bumps, etc. I thought it might be the shocks so I changed the shocks and springs before saving for rims (it really bothers me to see a car with nice rims and mechanical problems that have been ignored). After installing my suspension this March, I put rims on over the summer. Now it is starting to get cold again and the squeaking is back. I understand that this is most likely the control arm bushings or sway bar bushings but my question is:

How do I tell which it is?

If it is the control arm bushings, how do I tell if I should just change the bushings or should go ahead and change the whole ball joint/control arm assembly?

best way would be a visual inspection. Take a look at the bushings I bet you they have lines all around them and look dead. I will then check the movement of the ball joints and see if the boots are torn.
