Well I went over to the service and parts dept. and I asked them how much I would have to pay for springs/intake with install for my '09 IS350. Here are the prices:

$299 for fsport springs + $411 for labor = $710 + Tax (8.4%) = $769.64

$599 for fsport intake and labor + Tax = $649.32

I'm wondering if this is a good deal, what do you guys think? I'm sure I can negotiate with them, but I'm just curious on your opinions'.

Also I asked them about shocks and they quoted me $185 for each shocks.

I think the intake price is insane.

You can get it around $210 shipped on ebay from a lexus dealer when the MS 25% code is on, and you can install it yourself in under an hour if you can read english. (or probably japanese).

$599 for the installed price probably includes more than $250 for the intake itself. Even from Sewell the F-Sport intake is $390, so the dealer is probably only Charging $200 or less for install on the intake.

Personally, I don't think either price quoted is a good deal. Though the install is $110 cheaper for the springs than my dealer offered me.

I don't know what I should do...I kinda prefer eibach over the fsport, but I don't really trust the shops around my area (tacoma, WA)...I have a feeling they might do something to my car and don't tell me about it. As for the Fsport intake, I don't think it's that bad of start price..I'll call them up in a few days to see if I can get a better deal. I guess the thing that gets me is dealer workmanship vs random shop workmanship and I'm sure the dealer won't screw around with my car since they have the tools they need and what not.

It's an intake.

It's a tube and a box.

Seriously, if you can read English you can do it yourself in like an hour. Two if you need someone to read the English to you out loud.

There is no good reason to pay a dealer hundreds of dollars in labor for this (on top of the hundreds extra you'll pay for the part from him)

those are crazy prices, install the intake yourself, it's pretty easy to do.

I had my f-sport springs bought and installed at my dealership for 349, and i'm in Canada.

like i tell most people. pull a tech on the side to install it for you. slip him a 50 or something cause it surely isn't hard at all to put on a intake.. difficulty 2 outta 10 seriously. i added a one cause those engine cover clips are a pain in the **** to put back in lol

I'll give the installing myself a try soon, now i'll look for a good deal else where for buying the intake. thanks for the advice.

ya i went to fife, but fife and bellevue is owned by the same dude, but service/part prices can vary i guess...ya i'll give you a heads up. ps the snow situation is delaying everything.

at the rate the dealerships are charging, you're better off buying it from elsewhere (whether CL vendors or ebay) and going to a speed shop (or heck, even a competent mechanic) to get it done. if you really don't trust them, stick around and WATCH THEM DO THE WORK.

then again, for the prices f-sport parts are going for, you might as well just get aftermarket equivalents, save the money f-sport parts would normally gouge you for, and call it a day.

here's the warranty question again... what could possible go wrong with intake...f-sport has 1 yr manufacture warranty, labor is really up to you...as far as your suspension...reputable good mechanic that u trust can charge you way cheaper.. GL
