Over the last couple days i've noticed that as i slow to a stop i get this loud humming noise that sounds like metal on metal coming from the front of my car. I suspect its the brakes, but i cant figure out what exactly could be causing the problem. My brake pads are essentially brand new as I only have about 7000 Km's on my car.

I was just wondering whether anyone has had the same issue with their IS or if someone has a suggestion as to the cause of the problem.

I'm hoping its just something minor that will correct itself over time, because i hate going in to lexus service.

I'm having exactly the same problem, i just noticed the same humming sound from the brakes about a couple weeks ago. It does seem like it's coming from the front brakes when I come to a slow stop as well. I'm assuming it's the cold weather and the snow that's causing it, my brakes are essentially new as well cuz I have just over 1000Km on the car. Was thinking about mentioning it when i bring it in for my first inspection, not sure if they'll be able to reproduce the sound though.
