I installed the Carbing strut tower brace this weekend. Yes I did use the flat washers that came with it under the bar. Yes I did have to pry off the whole square Lexus emblem on the top of the v-8s intake manifold for clearence, and yes it broke up when I did. Yes the poly stopper on the master cyl. brace has to have a shorter metric bolt in it and will have to be shaved approx. 1/8 inch. Have not driven the car yet or finished the stopper assm. yet.

Worked on the stopper today. Heres what I needed to make it work. A 10mm-1.5 x35mm hex bolt, same size thinner nut, a pedestal sander, to shorten the stopper, and a bench grinder to shorten the hex head of the bolt. Of coarse the first time for doing it, prob. spent an hour, you can only grind on a steel bolt a little while till it gets hot. Hit the brakes on the way home, seem to be firmer. Im seeing a clearance concern on the fast idle solenoid on the front side of the throttle body.

I took my strut tower bar to a machine shop today to have it modified to clear the fast idle solenoid, will let you know what they charged. This is what the forums all about IMO, I learn from your expeariences and you learn from mine.

Picked up my S.T.B. today from my friends that have a nice machine shop, they charged me 35 dollars. It was not very well done, I expected better, but I want to get it on the car.

take it back and demand your money back if they don't do the job properly. I get annoyed from hearing / seeing / experiencing half-*** jobs that are paid for by customers.

Over40driv: Its me (Garage7RP) I was using my bro's login for a while and finally decided to sign up for my own...

Anyway, no specific question. I learn more looking at things (Visually) than with words hehehee... Yeah, I'm one of those guys that would open a box and not even look at the instructions and just try to install it hahahaa.... Well, I just skim through the instructions (the picture actually) LoL... then just go right at it.

I tried to order from them the other day when the price was listed at $255.
They said the price was an error and cancelled the order.
www.speedagency.com has it on their site for $255 , I'm checking to see if they will honor that price.
