Default 18" clear BBK??

will the OEM 18" rims clear BBKs??
will the is-F BBK fit, or will the f-port BBK fit?
what about after market BBKs; project mu's, brembos, stoptech, etc?

imho, OEM brakes suck. HAHAHAH
i've changed them at every ~15k miles. Dealership even told me they wear out faster, and usually last 15-20k miles. its almost time for me to change my brakes again and i'd rather spend $$$ on BBKs and not replace them for many many many miles then spend $ on OEM brakes and replace it so frequently.

iirc the only bbk kit (for the is250) that will clear the oem 18's are the is350 bbk's.

the f-sport bbk and the is-f bbk will not clear the oem 18's.

so does that mean the stock is350 BBKs, or is there a different is350 BBK?
and are you talking about this 350BBK?

The F-Sport (blue StopTech) big brake kit WILL clear the IS350 18" wheels. This is one of the biggest reasons TRD chose this particular kit for the F-Sport line. The IS-F Brembo's will not clear the OEM 18's.

I thought f-sport BBK is brembo. Or is thatjust is-f??
But that's sweet. I can get BBKs without getting 19" although a set of 19" rims would be nice

One question, not all 19" clears BBKs right??

F-sport BBK = Stoptech
ISF BBK = Brembo

The 19" will depend on how aggressive the offsets are.

i stand corrected; thanks.

the is350 bbk that i was referring to is the oem is350 brake discs/calipers.

but from the quoted post the f-sport bbk will clear the 18" oem's.

I see these terms misused a lot here...

The F-Sport Big Brake Upgrade is a blue rebadging of StopTech's offering for the 2nd gen IS. If you need more than my word on this, here's a photo I took of the F-Sport drilled disc when this kit was unveiled at SEMA 2007:

StopTech makes the kit exclusively for TRD USA, and it is now only available for sale through the TRD/F-Sport supply chain. You can indeed run this BBK without going to a 19 inch wheel. In addition to the compatibility with the OEM Lexus 18' wheels, CL member t0e has the original StopTech kit (which was available before TRD's deal with StopTech), and he's running 18 inch Work wheels:

The IS-F brakes (or BBK, pictured below) are the brakes that come standard on the IS-F. They are NOT an F-Sport offering. These are monoblock six piston calipers manufactured by Brembo for Lexus:

Hope this clears up some of the confusion.

HAHA, no doubt - I think Paul can fit about 3 pieces of paper in between his front caliper and those Works...

Yes! haha -- 18s will work.

Just get the proper offset for 3piece/2piece wheels

It really depends on the wheel and the BBK. Each company has a template that you can print out and measure your wheel to see if it will clear their BBK.
