Lowering springs advice?

hey guys i wanna buy some lowering springs. first thing is should i wait till i have rims before i buy them?

also can someone post up a DIY on how to do it? i tried looking but couldnt find shiot.

how low do you want to drop it? what size wheels do you want?

i want like only 1" maybe 1.5 and rims im most likely gonna get 18s i really dont wanna do any crazy fender work
