Default Front and Rear Brake Calipers (92 SC300)

Guys ,

I have a question. I'm fixing to have to do brakes on my 92 SC300. I've added aftermarket wheels so my calipers look like crap. I'd like to bead blast my calipers and paint my calipers with VHT silver paint. My question is this.
I'd like to go ahead and have the calipers done before I take my car to have the brake job done. So, what's the most economical solution.

Buy a used set of calipers-bead blast-paint-rebuild with caliper kits.

Buy rebuilt calipers-paint-install.

I don't want to do the LS upgrade or Supra brakes. I did this on my old SC400 but left it with the guy a couple of days. I don't have that luxury this time so I need to give him pads, rotors and calipers. If anyone has a source for "good" rebuilt calipers please let me know. I'm seeing them range from $60.00 each to $100.00 eeach. Here's a pic of when I did my SC400.

Thanks,

Shane

imo. it'll be a lot easier for you to park the car at your place. remove the calipers. clean them and paint them. all together, it will take you about 3-4 hours max including painting it and letting it dry. i was able to replace my calipers, rotors, and pads in less than 30 minutes. minus the time it took to bleed the brakes.

probably be better if you just sand the calipers down yourself and paint them in your drive. plenty of members here have done that. Do a search on it for some more info.

its really easy to do. all you need is a 14mm socket, 17mm socket, and some liquid wrench just in case the bolts are stuck on.

My biggest problem is my **** retentiveness. I know I could paint while on the car but I prefer to have them blasted and then painted. If I'm going to go through all that I might as well have another set.

im not saying paint them on the car. im saying do the brake job yourself. remove the caliper from the car and do everything yourself. you save so much time and money.

Thanks for the input guys. Bought a set of front and rear calipers from Aliga for a steal. Going to blast, paint and do rebuild kits. May not be the most economicl choice but it will make me happy.

Thanks,

Shane
