So if I would want to perform the upgrade on an AWD its as simple as swapping with the is350 AWD correct? Also will the 350 calipers fit these wheels? Better to ask then be 3 hours into the swap to find out the wheels wont turn

yes, you need AWD is350 brakes to swap if you have AWD is250. As for the wheels, should be find if they are stock. what size are those?
Has anyone used aftermarket brake caliper rebuild kits? I can't seem to find any OEM kits online. I called my nearest Lexus parts and they said they would have to special order the front and rear brake caliper rebuild kits for my 2006 IS 350 front and rear calipers.

Guess not. Ended up ordering the rebuild kits from my local Lexus parts. $220
Are the same front rotors and calipers used on any other models besides the is350? Wanted to do this upgrade on my last 2is and still want to on my current 2is but the is350 was never sold here so im hoping i can find the same stuff on a GS or something.
Yes, in Europe the same front calipers were used on the GS350, GS430, GS460, GS450h, RC200t, RC350, IS300 (3IS) and IS200t. Rear calipers were used on fewer models, the GS350, GS430, GS460, and GS450h.
Note that the rear knuckles and calipers changed in 2012, you need to make sure you get the correct ones for pre-12/2012 production if you want them to fit.
Does anyone one know if the rear brake piston on the is250 is the same size as the is350 rear piston? I know they use the same brake pads so I'm thinking the pistons are the same? Seems like no one is selling these rear pistons.
Purchased a set of front and rear calipers off a 07 IS350. I was taking them apart to start prepping them for powder coating when I noticed one of the rear calipers is somewhat seized. I was able to able to expand the caliper all they way outward with a C clamp, however I have not been able to push the caliper inward. This project just got complicated -__-
this is a common prob with the rear caliper. Better off buying that new/rebuilt online and trading in core. I had to replace a cousins caliper. It was fairly cheap, ~$50?
They had had a recall/campaign for the rear boot on the caliper. It let water in which corroded the slide bolt.

I went ahead decided to rebuild it. Looking back, it would have been cheaper to just buy a new one, but I had already put so much time and effort into the damn thing. Still waiting for them to come back from powder coating.
Finally did my upgrade. Purchased a used set of 2006 IS 350 front and rear calipers from a local junk yard. Prepped, powder coated, and rebuilt them. Spend more time and effort than I wanted to. Pretty satisfied with the end result. The rear dust shields were a PIA to modify. Had to go back and bend back the lower portions because it was rubbing.
Here are some tips from my experience:
1) Don't waste your time rebuilding the calipers, it's cheaper to just buy new ones. The rebuild kits and pistons are freaking expensive. I had to replace one of the rear pistons due to pitting.
2) The rear dusk shields require a lot of modification compared to the fronts. I used a pair of pliers and a hammer to bend everything back and out.
3) Get a good pair of metal sheers. You'll need to cut a small part of the bottom front shields so that the front calipers fit.
4) Buy a good amount of brake fluid to bleed all of the air out of the system. I did about 3 or 4 rounds of bleeding. If you do bleed the brakes yourself with just a bottle and pvc tubing, make sure the bottle sits higher than the caliper so that the tube makes an upside down U so that any air in the line won't go back into the caliper.
5) Make sure you use the IS350 brake hardware. They the brake shims pins and retainer clips are not the same (even the rears).
