i have d2racing and i have nothing to complain about these coilovers. megans are the least pricey. ksport and d2 are the same coilovers in terms of design. d2racing coilovers have much better dampers than ksport.

if you get tein make sure they're flex. everything else in the tein line does not have independent height adjustment.

D2 and KSport are NOT the same!!! The D2 dampeners are COMPLETELY different than KSPORT.

fwiw, running the D2 coilovers with the 17.8k/8.7k. however going to swap the rear for a 9.8K cause its a little too soft..but not by much.

oops sorry i meant to say design-wise. yes d2 dampeners are completely different and rides much better than ksport ones. the price is about $100 difference in between them.

how are you running 17.8k in the front and only 8.7k in the rear?!

D2 and Ksport share much of the outer components but that's all they share. Since they use the same company to make the shock body and spring perch, the springs and shocks are sourced through different manufacturer. They each have there own vision of designing their rebound and compression rate.
Please tell me who did you source your D2 coilover from because that spring rate you have there is asking for trouble. The front spring rate is just too stiff while the rear is too soft. Did you ever test your coilover on a track with proper data to see if it's a neutral setup. Lastly, how did you determine your dampning rate? Oh, when did you order these coilover since you might have one of the first gen. design with the smaller valving.

Adam, I'm sorry to hear that you have bad experience with Tein coilover. If you live in the southeast US, I'd invite you to ride in my car with my setup so that you can experience a true custom coilover setup on corner balance car. Let me know if you decide to go with a custom setup and I'll point you in the right direction.

Apparently, that D2 spring rate combo is sold on ebay. (17.8/7) I was hoping it was a typo other that's just plain ridiculous. maybe it's a knockoff

yea i was wondering why the front is so high and the rear soo soft.. if it was maybe like 17 and 12 that seems for right... i dont like for too soft of a ride... i like it rough .... the Tein Flex are great.. just cant deal with the top mounts being metal/metal ... when i do get new coilovers i'll be selling the Tein Flex for anyone that wants them lol...

Alexus-300 ... i'm gonna get up with you.. and ps i have family in NC

On my set I'm running 13kg front and 9kg rear. It's not too soft IMHO. In fact, I think a 12/8 might be perfect. On a medium damper setting it rides about as stiff as my old E46 with sports suspension. On a softer setting it rides firmer than stock, but about on par with a stock 5 with standard suspension IMHO. 17kg front seems pretty stiff.
