car came with tuner suspension, want better ride quality
This old beater SC400 that I just got has some kind of tuner suspension on it. I noticed it when I replaced the drivers side axle. The shocks are blue (tokico blues??) and the springs look to be blue too. It's got a lowered stance, and it rides real sporty... too sporty for me, especially on the horrible roads in Houston. The roads are so bad in this part of town that my cd player will skip each time I hit a big manhole mountain(they are everywhere!), which is about 4-5 times every 1/2 mile or so. It has stock 16" wheels and tires on it, and the fronts scrape the bottom of the fender liners over all of the big road bumps.
I'm looking for a softer ride. I have looked around, and other brands of tuner struts/springs are pretty expensive compared to the the same parts for other popular tuner car models that I'm used to seeing.
What brand of components available for this car that will give me a stock-like ride and will ride low enough so people don't think I'm a 4x4? I researched a little bit, and the stock supra suspension interests me (since it will slightly lower a stock SC), but I don't want to spend a premium on used stock shocks and springs. If I were to find some stock n/a supra springs, would they give me a decent/stock ride that's slightly lower than stock if I paired them up with say some KYB gas-a-just supra struts?
I don't enjoy driving this car on these horrible streets, hell I'd gladly swap someone straight up for some GOOD (low mileage) stock n/a supra or SC suspension.

all pm's replied, I was mistaken, the rear springs are black with two big orange stripes near the bottom. I originally just glanced at the assembly when I was under there working and they looked to be a blueish color with some road dust on them, but after just crawling under the rear and wiping some of the road dust and axle grease off of them they are black. The shocks are Tokico blues. There is about a finger and a half gap between the stock wheels/tires and the fender lips, here is a picture of how the car sits (keep in mind I traded a 250$ turbo for the whole car, so it's not very nice.. lol). There are two steel 440 chrysler crankshafts in the trunk, so the rear is sitting about half a finger lower than it usually does in the pics.
