You and I think very much alike. Turbos, ceramic coating, spiffy VIP calipers! I was thinking of having my LS4 calipers chromed out like the Greddy Grex calipers or just send them in to have polished.

Haha great minds think alike! I got a quote for the ceramic coating by Phil from Spoolin. 200 bucks. As for the calipers i think i am going to polish mine. Those polished LS400 brakes look very classy, i like it.

i don't think you can chrome aluminum ... i think they have to nickel plate it first.

the IS calipers are not straight bolt on, i am getting brackets made and hopefully they'll be done within this coming up week.

to polish your LS calipers you are going to need a lot of free time ...

start with a rough grit sandpaper like a 60 or 80 grit and sand away ...
once you get it smooth switch to a finer grit like a 150 or 200 grit and sand away ...
once you're done with that you now switch over to an ever finer grit like a 600 grit ...
then you switch over to an even finer grit like a 1500 grit
and then you finish off with a polishing wheel and polishing compound ... the one that attaches to your drill works very well but i have a stationary wheel and its a lot easier to control

once i get my IS calipers on i will post a write up

With the sanding, how did you sand it. by hand? i got air tools here at my sheetmetal shop so i think it will be a bit easier.

ZSC3: the LS i did by hand since theres a lot of small spaces where power tools can't really get in to, but the IS i did with a hand sander and by hand ...

this is the only pic i have of the LS behind 18" Sterns

my only question/comment/concern would be that the polish would not last long or you would have to polish it every other day to keep nice due to it being in the elements so much.
