Default Brake upgrade for 16" stock rim/tire

What brake rotor/pad/line upgrades are there for the few us with stock 16" tires/rims ?

How much?
Where from?
How much better performance?

I was thinking the same thing since Supra TT brake upgrade might be too much headache plus I wasn't sure if Supra TT brake system will fit in my car (I have 17" but don't know the offset, I used to have these on 1994 RX-7)

Well, I thought about purchasing one off the eBay since I see a lot of these rotors for our cars for sale, however, I don't have any information nor any reviews about these rotors from eBay. I found something from Tirerack and it's from EBC, a lot of people on this board gave good reviews on the EBC Greenstuff brake pads so if the rotors are from EBC, I think I could give this a try.

Right now, my brakes are in good condition, so I am not going to replace them with the EBC rotors and pads, however, when I do I think I will go with this route.

The rotors are called EBC Sport Grooved Rotors and per pair they go for $258. Here is the link to the EBC stuff from tirerack.

http://www.tirerack.com/brakes/ebc/rotors.jsp

If any one of you try these rotors, please post some feedback.

Thanks,

Peter~

Steve ganz of Carson Toyota has the TRD slotted rotor for $99 each I think. It was design for GS but fit SC. He doesn't have the rear rotor. Let me know if he has the rear now

Stock OEM rotor was at a higher price

I am probably going to get these from EBAY. $199 for front and rear Brembo brake rotors !!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eb...321467&r=0&t=0

I didn't call Steve Carson. The problem is that the auction may be cheap but it doesn't come with nothing like the steel braided lines or nothing or potentially anything else I might need. I was also wondering about longevity of the rotors since you can't really turn cross drilled rotors I still have at least 7k miles before I will need to change the brakes. So who knows what I will do when my time comes up.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Remember my car is stock except the stereo system.

All these items sell separately. Steel braid line ~$100 for 4.

Did you install the stereo yourself?

Are the lines something I can get locally (Houston) or is it something I have to order.

Yeah I installed the stero myself . Pain in the A$$ but well worth it.

1 JL10W3 (custom box .65 cu ft sealed)
MB Quart Reference6.5 components
MB Quart 6.5 2ways
2 sony 5 channel amps bridged
1 farad Fosgate Cap

Factory radio

Everything looks factory except when you pop the trunk the amps and the cap are on the back wall. I need to buy a new memory card for the dig. camera or I would send you a picture.

If you need just regular rotors, Autozone has them. I think is was $55 each front.

Maybe! I ordered the steel brake line from www.cyberauto.com for my other toy. I haven't order it for the SC. I don't see the point in wasting money for it yet

I like to learn how to hook up after market Amp to the factory radio in the near future. Will call on you for that

shoot me your email and I can give a wiring hack. My only suggestion is to run a new power and ground (4 guage) You can re-use all the other wires.

You can get Goodrich braided ss lines from NOPi, these are the same as the TRD (Goodrich makes 'em for TRD), just a different box, and less cash.
