Doubtful, the F-Sport struts have their own bump stops. As far as I know, nothing is migrated from the stock suspension to the F-Sport stuff.

Just because it's a pet peeve of mine-

Your car has shocks, not struts.

If it had struts it'd have a different type of suspension.

As far as the internal workings of shocks and struts, there is very little difference. The main difference is that a shock only acts as a damper and is usually mounted between the lower control arm and the body.

A strut not only acts as a shock, but it also becomes part of the suspension system. It replaces the upper control arm, upper ball joint and shock. In most cases the front springs are also incorporated, making one complete unit.

The Lexus IS models us STRUTS.

struts are a structural part of the suspension. if you take off a strut, your suspension will no longer be fixed. take off the shocks on the is, and the suspension is still held in place by the upper and lower arms. therefore these are not struts. mcpherson type suspension use struts, but not double wishbone.

there are no special bumpstops for the f-sport shocks. they use the same bumpstops as the stock suspension.

Be happy to bet my car vs yours you're wrong... though the previous poster kinda already explained it.

Here's a pretty good, detailed, explaination though if you'd like to learn more about the differences in Macpherson (strut) suspensions vs. double wishbone (no struts, just shocks) suspension-

The car rides MUCH BETTER as compared to before. Its like a totally different car. Suffice to say, I am now happy with my purchase.
So after replacing the defective parts, would you still recommend the F-sport suspension as an upgrade?
