IS350 calipers on your SC
#31
[QUOTE=drft_n_sc;4353218] i mean imagine running a set of these on your SC
The Lexus IS-F fronts use Brembo 6 piston Monobloc calipers. Brembo makes their monobloc 14 inch 6piston GT kit (P/N 1M1.8019A) which will fit for the SC300/400's. Keep in mind this P/N is for the Supra TT...IIRC Brembo BBK's do fit both 300's and 400's. Though not affordable for everyone, this is a very viable option for those wanting to make the big jump to a TESTED and PROVEN brake upgrade.
Although I applaud your ingenuity, and I honestly do. The thoughts and concerns I have, have already been repeated continuously throughout this thread. I'm confident you'll be taking the words of the members of this board into consideration when furthering your 'engineering'..keep us posted..
Granted there are other already tried and true methods for SC owners to upgrade (ie OEM Supra TT brakes, 95+ OEM LS400...) I'm merely making this comment in reply to imagining having IS-F brakes on an SC..

dejacky: I haven't really had time to mock up a new redesigned bracket since I've been more busy with work, but to be honest with you I don't think I'm going to change it up until I get my set of IS350 calipers for my car. So far the brackets are holding up extremely well ... we check them to make sure nothing has come loose every weekend and I took them off last weekend to see if they had warped or if any kind of deformation had happened, and so far so good. I know your here somewhere in the DFW and maybe we could meet up one weekend and you can check them out. .
bkjasonp: yeah I love the IS350 calipers too ... and man they are a definite upgrade from the LS and the TT calipers.
Oh and I am still alive and ... I have not killed anyone

YeA2jZ: I used my stock SC lines. I plan on upgrading to SS lines when I get back to working on the SC.
lengnoou: the brakes feel like they should. They are definitely a huge improvement over the LS and the TT ... the brake pedal doesn't feel spongy at all and the bias is in the front, the car is a lot more responsive and controlable when coming to a sudden stop.
I would highly recommend this BBK to everyone!!

Please consider the liability you are placing yourself in if you cannot see the public safety risk by running that set up on the streets. Any form of vehicular accident places you at instant fault. Many police departments have specialty investigators particularly when a death is involved secondary to an accident. Something to think about.

I met the guy who just traded his 54000mi original galixy 500 for this exact black sc w/these calipers on it last tuesday. I offered to trade my TT front's some cash & a old intake for 92-97 sc400's I custom made. With out seeing the inside brackets. He turned my offer down. But I was still going to check them out so I could see how to make the brackets. THEN I FOUND THIS THREAD. OMG. Im glad I didnt trade. I would like to get a set of these calipers, then I can make my own bracket.
