Purpose of cutting the lower bumper off to install Daizen springs
Getting ready to drop my car this week or maybe next and i read the installation paper from daizen and it said to cut the lower end of the bumper (circle in red).. has anyone done this yet and why???is it require to do so?? Lmk thanks
It gives you more travel in the suspension, I had to cut of the bottom half of the bump stops. If you dont cut it you will be bottoming out a whole lot more. Someone correct me if Im wrong.
Here is a better solution: Get some Bilstein Sport shocks.
The bump stops aren't the culprit from having a crappy ride. It's the fact that you're lowered too much on OEM shocks to have any real suspension travel. The bump stops are there for a reason. I rather hit that than have internal shock damage.
Either get some Bilstein Sport shocks, or get coilovers that lowers independent of preload.
If you must cut the bump stop, dont cut it too much. The less material there is, the less it'll handle the compression, but I guess you do gain a bit more travel assuming the internal shaft isn't hitting anything.

Hey wait a minute! I wanna get TEIN CS's on my 98GS4, but I don't wanna change anything other than my OEM bushings to DAIZEN. What's all this I hear about cuttin'?

if you are changing to tein cs coilovers, you are changing everything...... nothing to worry
