Default Help! Tein Rubber Silencer Questions

I just bought a set of F-Sport springs, going to have a local shop put them on next week. Planning to buy a couple Tein Rubber Silencers to avoid the infamous "clunk". I'm assuming the front don't need them.

1. How many sets should I buy? Some people recommend 5 packs (completely cover all 4 dead coils) and some say only 3 packs?

2. What part of the coils do I install them on? Are there any pictures or guides?

ill see if i can get some pictures for you. i bought 5 packs (thats 10 total silencers). #1 and # 2 silencers were installed end to end starting from the top. #3 spacer i put about 3 inches from the end of #2. #4 and #5 i put about a half coil space in between starting from #3. you don't want to completely cover the first 4 or 5 coils, you want to allow some space between the silencers. i have the eibach springs and after i put on 5 silencers on each side, it raised my car up about 1/8" ill see if i can take some pictures tomorrow and post them up.

I actually just had the F-Sport springs w/ Silencers installed less than a month ago. I went with 5 packs, as suggested on this forum. It probably is overkill since Tein Springs have I believe 2 or 3 silencers on each coil from the factory, but I have NO CLUNK whatsoever. I just installed them on the rear coils leaving room for installation on the top. I spaced them about a half inch b/t each silencer for room for movement. It may be overkill, but 5 on each rear coil did it for me.

You guys are probably right, 5 each side seems like overkill. Putting them too close together seems like it'll raise the car a bit also.

I'm thinking just 3 per side with the length of the silencer between each silencer. #1 silencer at near the top, #2 will be the silencer length apart from #1, same for #3. How does that sound?

It's the 90-130. Unfortunately, they are backordered for 6 weeks at options auto salon. I just ordered some.

yes you can install them without taking the spring off. the silencers have a cut on them that will alow you to just slip them on.

I put them on my prokit springs, took one side off for a test and no clunk. So it turns out I didnt need them anyway. Its odd that some people dont have the clunk and some do.
