DRFT_N_SC,

Thank you for that. Straight forward and precise. Wish I could do that.

My spacers are universal junk. They do not center on the 5 studs at all. Can you give me a steer on where to purchase the better spacer? I will will want to get longer studs, also. I can look that up but do you know off hand how long my stock studs are?

How do you know me as Mr. "G"? That was a long time ago in a galaxy far far away.

Thank you for your superb advice....all of you,

John

drft,

I went down and got some studs. My eyeballs need re-calibrated cause they floated in the hole. Close but no cigar. Went back with my digital calipers and found the ideal studs but the knurled end was some .020mm thicker. Will go in there says I. so sure of myself that all is well that I drove out all the studs without taking any precaution for the threads. Well they didn't fit and I couldn't drive them in. Had to put the old ones back in and, finally getting a break, the threads weren't bunged. The moral here is you need more than measuring stuff to get this done. It takes having been here before and understanding that the stock studs are soooo close that they must be special mfr.

I will contact your friend and please know that I was defeated till you helped with that. My only recourse was Lex and I doubt they would have come thru. Also, I haven't verified this but I'll bet Ichiba's real name is Ichban's. It means #1 in japan speak.

Thank you for your timely rescue,

John
